El Nido, located in the Phillipines on the island of Palawan, is a beautiful coastal settlement many tourists have traveled to in recent history. However, before not too long ago, it was primarily a getaway for locals on holiday, and foreign tourists are just beginning to break into the El Nido scene. What attracts vacationers are the beautiful beaches, jungles, and cliffs, making El Nido a perfect island paradise.
Fortunately there are two airports on the island, so travel to this tropical paradise is relatively easy and feature both domestic and international flights. El Nido is for the traveler that is looking to escape; the breathtaking landscapes are cause for serious relaxation on this island full of green trees and beautiful blue ocean views. A popular destination for nature enthusiasts is Bacuit Bay, a place for diving, swimming, and snorkeling. Some prefer to go to one of the small islands off of the main island for serious seclusion and relaxing fun.
Hiking lovers flock to El Nido for rock climbing, and even walking, taking in the stunning views of beach side paradise. This resort island also features a fleet of delicious restaurants and eateries for cuisine-lovers, offering a wide array of local cultural foods that can only be found here.
Along with many great activities and places to eat, El Nido also has plenty of lodging, from very high end resort suites to relatively inexpensive (yet still nice) rooms for the casual traveler. No matter your price range, El Nido has a comfortable place for you to stay.
Specifically, diving is a prominent activity on the island, with a good selection of dive shops for you to choose from. Choose from beginner to advanced packages for some pretty good prices and have a day of water filled fun.
A word to the wise; there are no banks or ATMs on El Nido, so all of your costs need to be added before you go, in order to make sure you have enough cash on hand for all of your fun adventures. If you need cash, there are money transfers that you can use, and some of the boutiques and shops do accept credit cards, but not all; so please plan accordingly.
El Nido is the perfect getaway for a long and relaxing vacation away from the stresses of the world, and if you’re looking for some quiet R&R, try this wonderfully luxurious island.
